Family Day!

Another beautiful Sunday on my day off so to the city we headed off! We wanted to try a new restaurant that was serving brunch so we headed off to Park Chow in the inner sunset. First of all the worst parking ever on a beautiful day like that day. We literally went around 9th ave, 8th ave, 7th ave, 6th ave, Irving St., and Lincoln Way consecutively for 30 minutes before we found a spot 3 blocks away. We had to rush to the restaurant in hopes of not losing our res. As much as parking sucked, the experience at Park Chow was pretty good. We were seated upstairs where its sort of an outside patio but with sunroof windows so you're not completely exposed to the City wind. It was so crowded, but luckily no wait. I had eggs benedict, thanks to appzoloot for introducing me to it, with house potatoes which came with ceasar salad on the side, and the lovey had ham and bacon scramble also with the yummy house potatoes and wheat toast. The prices were good. Our total came to around 20 bucks. We left full and happy.

Long Time No Blog!

Hey guys, its been a while! Since my last post was quite a while ago in the blogging world, I've been dying to share with you guys what I got for my birthday. Since I celebrated my birthday the week before my actual birthday, I couldn't share with you guys my presents since I didn't get them until my real birthday. Ironically, I spent my real birthday at the mall by myself for the first part of the day only because I had nothing to do and everyone was busy (hence celebrating on the weekend). For dinner I bought some crawdaddy to-go and took it to Mom and Dad's house for dinner with the family.
After seeing these shoes on sale at a couple of stores and them not having my size, I gave up on them. But when on my trip to get Wendy's birthday present I came across these shoes again...and in MY size!! Coincidentally, the middle sister texted my what I wanted for my birthday, and a light bulb clicked!
These Steve Maddens rock...literally! I love them, thanks seechell!
Thee Bongs came through and got me what no one, even myself, thought she would buy me...a CD deck for me cara! No more restarting of the CDs whenever I restart my car! I swear I have memorized every word to the first track of every one of my CDs! And I can finally listen to the radio, now I can be up on all the club songs! hehe
Mommy's so cute. Only she can buy me something I wouldn't ever think about buying, and it turning out so pretty. Can't wait to wear it for Kuya's graduation at Idaho.
My lovey got me these glasses. I fell in love with them as soon as I put them on. I love, love the white trimming along the top half of the frame. They add so much character to it I think. I figured not too many people have these shades and it made me feel like Mary Kate so I was sold.
Thanks Mom, thanks Dad for my new tires!!! I feel safe now, no longer in fear of my tire popping while doing 70 on the freeway because I messed up the tires from running over a curb. teheehee
Thanks sistah, such a smart investment for the whole household! No more dealing with the lady who hemmed our jeans and ripped you, charl, and smallz off from being with his offspring (yeah, we're bitter). This sewing machine is so cute and there's so many things I can do with it- now its just a matter of howww...My two boys, Rich and Hec, came through with what I've wanted for so long. "Got hookah?"
I also want to thank Ate V for my giftcard and Tita G for some mula. I really appreciate all my presents from all my loved ones. I love you all and most importantly, I lovvee the day of my birth! 'Til the next 11 months...

Its Just Another Manic Friday

Last week me and the Hus were both home early from work with no events, engagements, and MONEY so we decided to have our very own, very exclusive photo shoot! Well this photo shoot consisted of him as the photographer and me as the model. Its not that he's camera shy, for those of you who know him knows that for sure, but he just wasn't in the mood to get dressed. I would have taken pictures of more outfits but honestly, we got hungry. We wanted this photo shoot to be more fun and whimsy, something I would never wear out the house. I wanted to put together outfits that you can possibly see on the runway with the clothes you have in your own closet. I actually have an idea. For those of you who read my blog and have ones of your own, I encourage you to try the same thing and post YOUR pictures! Trust me, its lots of fun and I'm sure you're curious as to how you can combine crazy things together in your closet! Since Ill be the first to start, let me do the honors...
Voila! Now its your turn!

Time Of My Life

Its that time of year again for one's digits of life to increase. What better way to celebrate getting older by drowning your sorrows away! Just kidding. This weekend, one of my bff's celebrated our birthdays together, like ww always do (since her birthday is one day before mine: March 24, March 25). We started the weekend off by heading out to my favorite pool hall, Thalassa Bar, in Berkeley. We wanted it to be a pretty low key night but with a little of partying still involved. Lots of people were able to make it and I felt so special!

Then on Saturday, we wanted to do it big and head out to the city. We went to Horizon Lounge on Broadway. I was a little skeptical, though, since Broadway is known to be ghetto and the night always seems to end up with a big fight (which did that night by the way, but not our group) but the lounge ended up looking pretty classy. I got all dolled up since its really the only time a can get all divaish without looking overdressed. Wendy looked sexy and so did everyone else. Considering the 115 name guestlist we had, about 3/4 of the people we invited showed up which was really nice to see. I've always wanted to see how it would be like if all the people in my life was under one roof (ie work, school, family, different groups of friends). As usual, on one's birthday, you are to be bought drinks by anyone. I wanted to make sure my hair stayed curly and my lashes on straight so instead of getting messy, sweaty, unsexy wasted, I opted for passing my straw to those in need of a refreshment. Don't get me wrong, I got pretty messed up but just enough to still enjoy my night, unlike one girl I know! Heheh...classic...

We ended the night by taking a trip to one of our late night restaurants, New Gold Medal. I was there for the hot and sour soup which I always end up craving after a long night of partying. Thanks so much guys, for those of you who were able to make it. I appreciate everyone taking the time to celebrate me coming out of my mother's vagina!
On Sunday, we headed to Wendy's house for a small BBQ her family was throwing for her. The events after a previous event are the best ones since we get to recap what happened the night before. And things that are happening at the moment aren't as funny as when its reiterated and reinterpreted the next day!

Turning 24 is a little bittersweet. I feel that in my life, at this age, I've accomplished so much yet so little in different aspects of my life. I love being married and I feel that I'm truly lucky to find my soul mate at this young age, as most people say. But as for my career, I'm at a stand still. By this point, I would have had a 'career' and not a 'job' and the fact that I am no where near to reaching my ultimate goal in being a nurse is also holding me back from starting my own family. I have this process, this step by step map as to how my life is supposed to turn out but at this point, life's giving my ass a wake-up call and tells me that there is never a perfect path in life and its full of obstacles which in turn makes up your life, its just what you decide to do with the obstacles and opportunities in it. And that my shpleal, happy birthday to me, hehe..

Pandas make everyone happy!

This video is from an organization in China that researches giant panda breeding since these are one of the animals that are on the brink of extinction. Watch this video and I guarantee it'll make you smile. Oh, and the squealing you might hear are the panda's whining. Cuutteee...

Nothing can replace the real thing

I told you guys I would post my new gear when I had the chance to wear it. I don't know, now I'm having second thoughts. From the opinions of several family members (mother, sisters, and sister-in-law), they look a lot like the other several sunglasses that I sport. I figured I could exchange them for a different type of shade type I don't have yet. Maybe aviators or even square ones. Marc Jacobs or Guccis. To be honest, the reason I got these oversized waferers was to emulate these shades that I found that look amazing. Hmm, shall I get these instead?!? They are too sick to pass up but really expensive:Grey Ant Status Glasses

Dear Santa,

I was doing some blog stalking and I came across one of my favorite "stalkees",Childhood Flame's Blog, and she was talking about the new jacket she got from Harput's Market, which is actually in San Francisco in the Fillmore. I've been meaning to go there because ALL the pieces look so nice, but very expensive; so maybe i'll visit just to gawk at the clothes. But this jacket she got is awesome. Its a little pricey, but when you find all the ways you can wear it, you would only be paying $40 for each style! The jacket is $445 but you can wear it 12 different ways, if not more. So, yes Santa, if you can hear me....I WANT!!!

Marc Jacobs F/W 09/10

Gray is the new black, guys. My new favorite color! I loved how gray matched every color in his line from dark hues to the bright neons.

*The songlist for his show by the way is awesome! I want to know who he used, shall I ask him?

So excited, Im gonna pee on myself!!!

Are you kidding me? No Doubt. July 25. Shoreline Amp. Section 101. Row R. Seat 3. YESS PLEASE!!!! Ahhhhhh! Can't wait, I get excited every time I think about it. I totally regretted not seeing them on tour in 2002 and I didn't want to do that again so a couple of my friends and I, one who is the ultimate ND fan like me, hopped on the presales as soon as we found out. Whatever it takes to see this band, I don't care. This is the only band I would promise myself to see before I die, seriously. This is MY band.

I found a couple videos that was kind of interesting and sheds some light on the songs that they wrote. These are one of the dozens of favorite ND songs I love and it's actually really cool to find out the meaning and purpose of them.

I can remember back to my fourth grade, when I fell in love with these guys. It was Spiderwebs that sold me. I remember being with my friends and we were talking all about our favorite songs. Everyone else mentioned Bone Thugs, Tupac, Aaliyah, while I told them Garbage (remember that group?! lol). See, goes to show I loved their music even before I knew who they were! embarassing....hehe.

Family Day!

Both the husband and I coincidentally had the same weekday off, which never happens, and we wanted to do something fun. These days, I call 'Family Day'. I heard from sis-n-law about the YSL Exhibit at the De Young Museum in San Francisco and we thought about checking it out. We anticipated for rain so we dressed warm and brought an umbrella but it ended up miraculously being beautiful and the sky clear and sunny. We thought the museum would be full of school kids running around but luckily the museum was very quite and some tourists scattered the place.

The exhibit is amazing. Although I thought the exhibit was quite small, it completely captured who Saint was, what inspired the inspirations he himself would later make, and what ultimately represented Haute Couture and his renowned brand YSL. Even though we weren't allowed to have cameras, the Hus snuck a couple shots with his iPhone before he got in trouble by the security TWICE! All for the sake of blogging baby! These were some of the favorites we were able to capture, there was actually a lot more but Paul Blart kept giving us the evil eye.

I love Saint's rendition of camaflouge in this piece. Its quite hard to see but the color and fabric was beautiful and fluid. The fox fur complimented the piece completely. Loved it.

This is my favorite jacket and one of Hus' favorite pieces was the one beside mine, the shawl with the fur surrounding the opening for the face. As cheesy as it sounds, it was breathtaking. The ostrich dress was beautiful. You don't how bad we both wanted to ignore the 'Please Do Not Touch' sign and feel EVERYTHING. It was amazing how each feather made the dress and I wanted to think that each feather was placed in a specific position for a reason. There were other pieces as well made out of rooster, which made me just put it on and fly off the roof. lol

The outside was too beautiful to waste so we exploited it with our faces...well, mostly mine.

We continued the day heading to our favorite, the Marc by Marc store, where Hus picked up his jeans that he had hemmed, and he also managed to come out with suspenders. Cute. We then went to Westfield where we checked out Nordstrom where I bought the oversized Ray Ban waferers. *Will post up pictures of them when I wear it out*. Don't know yet if I'll keep them though. I feel like they look like the $12 ones I bought from Urban Outfitters and that kinda throws me off...im just sayin.

We ended the day @ our favorite CHEAP japanese restaurant in the city, Kitaro's. $24 for a two item bento box, two spider rolls, and a philadelphia roll...I love soft shell crab...LOVE LOVE IT and this is the only place where I can indulge myself in it without breaking my mastercard in half!

I'm new to this blogging thing so I'll be sure to capture more pictures depicting my adventures since I always want to share with you all what I ingested for the day. Until next time!
